April’s interests in hair and makeup goes back to when, as a child, she would style her grandmother’s hair. As she got older that interest grew and she styled many of her friends’ hair for their prom. It was no surprise to her family and friends when in 1995 she enrolled at Obrien’s schools of cosmetology, directly after high school, and excelled very quickly at the top of her class. After her training she was hired at an Obrien’s owned salon. April embraced all components of cosmetology, Hair, skin and nails. Her work at spas with continued education deepened her knowledge and success.
April has extensive education in hair cutting, textured and straight, as well as hair coloring. She has worked with many hair color brands including organic color systems, CHI- the first ammonia free hair color, Redken, Goldwell, Wella, Calura, Framesi, and Aveda. She has managed salons and spas, educated and has been an independent contractor. A master hair stylist and colorist, she is currently focusing her skills to hair cutting, custom blondes and skin care- clean beauty makeup. Always caring about the health and integrity of a client’s hair and skin is a top priority of hers. During the pandemic, she needed a change and decided to join her brother, David, at Texture Salon.
